What to expect

We know walking into somewhere new can feel daunting. Here's what a Sunday morning looks like.

    Tea, coffee, and a warm welcome

    We open our doors from 10am for refreshments and a chat before the service begins. Come early — this is often where the best conversations happen.

    Music and worship

    We sing together — a mix of contemporary and traditional. We make a joyful noise, rather than a polished performance. You can join in or just listen.

  • 3

    A message

    A Bible-based talk, around 25–30 minutes. Practical, honest, and relevant to everyday life.

    Prayer

    We pray together as a church — for each other, our community, and the world around us.

  • 5

    Come as you are

    No dress code, no expectations. The whole service runs from 10:30am and lasts about an hour.

Our main weekly gathering — music, prayer, and a Bible-based message. The service lasts for just over an hour. Come as you are.

Craft Club

A relaxed afternoon of crafts and good conversation. All abilities welcome — bring your project or just come along and see what's happening.

The Gathering

An informal midweek get-together with a shared meal, Bible study, and great conversation.

A quieter, more personal gathering to pray together and connect.

About Village Life Church

A growing community in Bonsall, Derbyshire — part of the Assemblies of God family.

Our story

Who we are

Village Life Church is a small, friendly Christian community based in Bonsall in the Derbyshire Dales. We meet to worship, to learn, and to care for one another.

We believe that faith should be lived out in the real world — in our relationships, our community, and our daily lives.

We're part of the Assemblies of God in Great Britain (AOG GB), a movement of churches committed to Spirit-filled, Bible-based Christianity.

Matthew Quinn

Pastor, Village Life Church

Matthew has lived in the village since he was 12 years old (1992). He has grown up, fallen in love, got married to his wife Dawn and raised 3 amazing children all within the village. He has a passion to see thriving and dynamic village churches throughout the Peak District.

We meet throughout the week in a variety of ways. All are open to everyone — no commitment required.

Worship Service

We open our doors from 10am for tea, coffee, and a chat. The service begins at 10:30am with music and sung worship, a time of prayer, and a Bible-based message that's practical and grounded. The whole service lasts about an hour. Come as you are — there's no dress code and no expectation to do anything except turn up.

Craft Club

A relaxed Tuesday afternoon gathering centred around crafts and good company. Bring along whatever you're currently working on — knitting, sewing, card-making, anything — or just come for the chat. All abilities welcome, beginners especially.

The Gathering

Our midweek get-together is one of the most loved parts of our week. We share a meal together and then dig into the Bible as a small group — discussing, asking questions, and exploring what it means for our everyday lives. It's informal, welcoming, and a brilliant way to get to know people properly.
